The Hens gossip about Michelle and the Queen

[pictured, Goldilocks]

In her haughtiest nasal European voice, Hildegarde spoke down her beak to the other three hens, "The Queen is receiving Michelle Obama today, you know." "Oh, really" said Rosie trying to use her most interested voice. 'Yyyessss,"swooned Hildegarde, "and they'll probably have tea and crumpets." "Crumpets?" asked Lacey, "Is that something to eat?' "Yyyessss, crumpets are wwonnnderfuuulll, and she'll probably served foie de gras,' responded Hildegarde. Rosie (being able to read spoken words in the air) excitedly asked "Grass? We haven't had grass since Camille poked some weed scraps through the pen." "Grass? Grass? squawked Lacey. "My last boyfriend did time in the slammers for grass. We'd better stay away from that stuff." "O, no-no-no-no, we aren't going to have that kind of grass," Hildegarde assured them. Later, when Rosie was alone resting on the nest, Goldilocks came up to her, looking worried. Goldilocks whispered to Rosie, "Who is Michelle Obama?"

I saw the headline and was sure you were talking about me! .. Oh well. Glad to be the same name company as the Obama one!

I'm sure if the hens had been talking about you, Goldilocks wouldn't have to ask. Mrs. Obama is probably meeting people in the UK who say "Oh, I thought we were going to meet Michelle Vandepas. We have such a wonderful memory of her."

Goldilocks is certainly keeping up with the latest gossip! Certainly ahead of me. Please tell Goldilocks to keep me updated about how the tea went. Also, how Rosie and Lacey are responding to on the various kinds of 'grass' as spring pops up in Colorado!

All the girls stayed busy chasing the 'spitting snow' yesterday....they maintain a positive attitude...always hopeful that each little white ball may be a tasty treat.

Oh yeah, you gotta watch that grass stuff, Goldilocks. There might be a wolf in the basket...who knows????
Maybe Michelle can invite you to scratch around in the White House Kitchen garden...I think you would like it.

Did the ladies wear any fashion acocouterments? I may have mentioned that I knit unique one-of-a-kind neckscarves for ducks, geese and swans (YOU furnish the yarn!), roadrunners, chickens of course, pheasant and peacocks (who never think they need a bit extra but end up swooning over the creations). I am available for a mere shadow of a fee. Any agents prowling around the Fair wanting to boost either of the girl's admittedly weensy careers?
